SAPIR GROUP
The SAPIR Group, the main entity in the port of Ravenna, provides loading/unloading and handling services for inert materials used in ceramics, fertilizers, iron products, special parts and equipment, liquids, Ro-Ro, and containerized goods, both dry and reefer.
The SAPIR Group’s parent company operates one of the largest multipurpose terminals in Italy, and owns a controlling stake in Terminal Nord Spa, which specializes in inert materials and project cargo. The Group also owns 70% of the shares in TCR (Terminal Container Ravenna), a company in which Contship Italia, a member of the Eurokai Group based in Hamburg, owns a 30% stake. TCR serves as a strategic gateway for the exchange of containerized goods with the Eastern Mediterranean.
SERVICES OFFERED
The SAPIR Group has almost 900,000 square meters of areas, with 2,700 meters of concession docks equipped with depths of up to 11.50 meters.
The operational areas consist of approximately 76,000 square meters of warehouses, 53,000 square meters of covered areas, and 418,000 square meters of yards, as well as a tank park with a storage capacity of 84,000 cubic meters.
With more than 14 km of railway tracks, the Group manages rail transport of goods for its clients, particularly to the Dinazzano Po terminals (inert materials and containers), Milan, Seregno, Segrate, and Lecco (coils and containers). TCR is directly connected with Marzaglia (Modena) and the RHM hub in Milan-Melzo, providing access to an intermodal network that connects major logistics centres in Italy and Europe. The terminals have a fleet of highly efficient operating vehicles that guarantee high yields for every type of goods.
An advanced IT infrastructure also allows customers to manage their stored goods online.
A new information system is currently being implemented which will bring together all commercial, logistical, operational, maintenance, customs, and access control activities into a single platform. Once operational, customers and ships will be able to interact with the company’s systems in order to further streamline the various stages of service delivery.
